It is June - and students have traded their backpacks for beach towels and summer camps! Summer marks more than just a break—it’s a turning point. For the Class of 2026, this is the moment to step into leadership, take ownership of the college process, and begin shaping your story.
Rising Seniors (Class of 2026): Your Time Starts Now
College Applications Begin – Start building your application timeline. Brainstorm personal statement ideas, begin a Common App account, and request recommendation letters early.
Test with Intention – Final SAT/ACT dates before early deadlines are approaching. Plan, prep, and register if needed.
Summer with Purpose – Jobs, internships, college programs, or volunteering—what you do now can influence your application later.
Organize Your College List – Research majors, campus culture, financial aid, and visit (virtually or in-person) schools that interest you.
Rising Juniors: Exploration & Strategy
Dive Deeper into Interests – Join a program, shadow a professional, or take a course in something that excites you.
Get Curious About Colleges – Begin keeping a list of schools that align with your academic and personal goals.
Build a Testing Plan – Map out when you’ll take the PSAT, SAT, or ACT, and identify where you may want prep support.
First-year students: Grow Through Discovery
Step Outside the Classroom – Summer is the perfect time to try something new—art, tech, sports, or service.
Reflect on the Year – What subjects did you enjoy? Where did you excel? Use this insight to guide future course selection.
Begin to Build Your Story – Start a resume, track accomplishments, and think about the activities that bring you joy.
This summer isn’t just a pause—it’s a launchpad. Let’s make it a season of growth, clarity, and meaningful steps forward. The Class of 2026 is up next—and the future starts now.
