December Admissions Tasks

It is hard to believe that you have almost reached the end of 2021, but before you move to January 2022, Williams Educational Consultants wants to remind you of a few important tasks to complete in 2021:

Seniors:

Applications – If you have not already completed and submitted your applications, please know that this might be the last month to work on any regular decision applications depending on your college timeline. Be aware of your deadlines and stay on top of all application requirements. If you have submitted all applications, ensure that your colleges have received all the documentation required. This can be accomplished by either checking the college portal or connecting with the admissions office. Nothing is worse than waiting for a decision that will never come because you did not submit all documents!

Financial aid and scholarships – Please be aware of your college's deadlines for financial aid and scholarships. Do not forget to complete the FAFSA and/or CSS Profile.

Testing – Most seniors, if not all, have completed this requirement. Please remember that Georgia is a state that requires testing.

Grades – December is a critical month for your high school classes. Your semester will end in December, so if you need to improve your grades before your finals, please do so as soon as you can! Remember that if you are accepted to a school, the college can reverse their decision if your grades become poor and show a lack of focus.

College Decisions – Please let me know if you receive a decision from your early action college as I would love to know too!

Juniors:

Standardized Testing: We are in the 3rd year of test-optional for many schools. To check out current optional test schools, please visit www.fairtest.org. Also, remember that Georgia and Florida are two states that require testing. Standardized testing has been part of the admissions process for a long time and is considered a milestone in the admissions cycle. If you know your college requires the exam or if you would like to take the test, please be aware of the options for your spring calendar.
