The UC System's President, Janet Napolitano, has a plan to eliminate tests. It will be fascinating to see what the responses will be to the proposal. As you may be aware, UC is test-optional for 2021-2022, test blind for 2023-2024, and then if possible, will then use their own exam for the Class of 2025. If the UC System is unable to create a test by 2025, they might eliminate the examination for admissions purposes, not for scholarships, academic placement, etc. Furthermore, the essay section for both SAT and ACT would no longer be a requirement.
