Wendy Williams

Georgia State University was established in 1913 and has a total of 32,022 Undergraduate and Graduate Students. It is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, a city known for its’ diversity of cultures and lifestyle, on a 48 acre campus. Georgia State offers 55 degrees and has more than 250 fields of study in their 8 different schools.

One benefit of Georgia State being in Atlanta is the more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies whose headquarters are right in the city. Atlanta is 4th in the World on the list of cities with the most Fortune 500 companies. This is great for students because they have access to wonderful internships and job opportunities. Students can meet friends and become involved outside of the classroom by joining one or more of the 250 student organizations and clubs. Georgia State also offers over 150 unique recreational services for students such as intramural sports teams, aerobics, personal trainers, outdoor trips and much more!

The university has a student to faculty ration of 21:1 and 16% of classes have fewer than 20 students. Although students are in a large city, they still get the one on one connections with professors who learn who they are and have time to discuss studies outside of the classroom. The most popular majors at Georgia State are Business, Social Sciences, Psychology, Education and Visual and Performing Arts.

The instate tuition including fees is about $9,928 per year. Many students receive help with this cost from scholarships. For students interested in applying, the application deadline for Early Action is November 1st and the Regular Decision deadline is March 1st. The acceptance rate is currently 51%. If you would like to visit the campus, information sessions and tours are available Monday through Friday each week at 10am and 2pm. To sign up or for more information, click here.
