Celebrate The Climb

Did you apply to a school like The University of Georgia, Georgia College, University of South Carolina, UNC-Chapel Hill, or any other school requiring submission by 10/15?

If you answered, "YES!" then...

STOP what you are doing. INHALE a deep breath through your nose and EXHALE through your mouth! You have submitted your first application with a hard deadline!

I am confident that climbing this mountain was not an easy task. However, you have worked diligently for the past three years to build your academic rigor, earn achievements, and fill-up your calendar with volunteering, leadership activities, clubs, and other essential activities so that you could fill out the application that you just submitted!

Now that the first deadline is over, what do you do?

We often get stuck in the waiting period. Williams Educational Consultants encourages you to continue your Climb, but before climbing to the next application deadline, take a minute, STOP what you are doing. INHALE a deep breath through your nose and EXHALE through your mouth! LOOK at your successes. You do not need an acceptance letter to feel proud of all your accomplishments. You just spent a significant amount of energy and time listing your accolades.

Did you see them?

Take the view in and be GRATEFUL for all that you have accomplished. YOU DID IT!

The climb is challenging, but stopping and looking around once you reach the top is even more challenging. Most people spend all their lives climbing but never stopping to appreciate the view.

How do you appreciate the view?

STOP what you are doing. INHALE a deep breath through your nose and EXHALE through your mouth! LOOK at your accomplishments. CONGRATULATE yourself, and THANK those who truly supported and guided you by SHOWING your appreciation.

It's simple. Be proud of yourself, think about all you have done, and then let the ones who supported you, who lifted you up, who guided you know that you are thankful. REFLECT!

One last thing before you start climbing again, ACCEPT yourself first. Then it won't matter what any school says to you because you have already won!

CELEBRATE THE CLIMB!
