UGA HONORS DEADLINE * JAN 15

Wendy Williams

Students love UGA for its vibrant campus life, strong sense of community, top-tier academics, and rich traditions. From cheering on the Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium to exploring the beautiful Athens campus, UGA offers an unparalleled college experience. Its diverse academic programs, engaging extracurricular opportunities, and commitment to innovation make it a standout choice.

It is impossible to discuss UGA without emphasizing its renowned Honors Program. The Morehead Honors College offers an enhanced academic experience through smaller class sizes, tailored advising, and distinct research opportunities. Honors students benefit from exclusive seminars, priority course registration, and specialized study abroad options. The program cultivates a close-knit community of ambitious scholars, providing mentorship and resources that equip students for graduate studies, competitive careers, and leadership positions. It stands as a testament to UGA’s dedication to academic excellence and innovation, and for applicants to the Class of 2029, January 15 is a crucial deadline!

If you're thinking about UGA and wish to join the Honors College, there are two routes for first-year applicants to gain admission. Those who submitted an Early Action application by the UGA deadline were automatically evaluated for admission to the Honors College and received notifications of automatic acceptance last November (GA Applicants) and December (Out of State Applicants).

There is a supplemental Honors College application for Early Action applicants who do not qualify for automatic acceptance and for all Regular Decision applicants. This application ensures that all interested students can be considered for this prestigious program. However, the deadline is on January 15. Be sure to visit UGA Honors for more information.

If you don’t gain admission to the Honors College as an incoming first-year applicant or are unsure if this is the right path, don’t worry—there’s another opportunity! Current first-year UGA students in their first semester may apply for acceptance into the Morehead Honors College. However, this first-semester entry application is the only chance for current students to join the Honors College.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be in your first semester at UGA as a first-year student.

  • Enroll in  14 hours of graded A-F courses during your first semester.

  • Achieve a cumulative UGA GPA of 3.8 or higher by the end of your first semester.

This pathway provides another opportunity to access the resources and benefits of the Honors College. Please let Williams Educational know if we can assist in your academic journey.
